At 50 pounds per day, 9 tons per year, the average horse's manure production piles-up!

Unfortunately, Michigan is experiencing a steady rise in complaints issued against horse farms. The top complaint lodged regards the management of horse manure. The unsightly piles, associated smells and presence of flies causes tension between neighbors and, increasingly, requires the intervention of local government and the Michigan Department of Agriculture. As a result, Michigan's equestrians, particularly those living on small acreage, are under increasing pressure to proactively manage their manure production.

As Michigan communities continue to weigh the benefits of maintaining horse friendly zoning, it is imperative for Michigan horse lovers to educate themselves and local officials of the unique benefits horse populations bring: green-space, charm, economic stimulus, and a positive community identity. In addition, to ensure Michigan communities continue to welcome horses on small acreage, Michigan horse lovers must proactively evaluate their manure management practices.

As horse owners, the staff at Equine Manure Management, LLC understand the unique challenges facing Michigan horse owners. We work hard to provide affordable, effective manure management and piece of mind for Michigan horse-owners. We are committed to ensure client properties are treated with care and respect.
