About Us

Much like many of our customers, we dreamt of horses. Yearning for a house with a little bit of land, a barn, good fencing, green pastures and horses grazing peacefully in their fields. We thought of the fun it would be to ride horses in the backyard, trailering to parks and shows, leisurely listening to horses chew their hay on a quiet morning and simply gazing at the horses from the comfort of the house. Happily we planned for their arrival.

In our dreaming and planning we neglected one of the most over-looked realities of horse care: manure management. Lacking a sound strategy for control the manure piled up, the flies swarmed, some neighbors began to voice concerns and we began to look for solutions. Unfortunately, there were very few options available and our first few years of horse ownership became consumed by managing manure and finding solutions.

During our research we found many Michigan horse owners were in the same predicament. In addition, we learned complaints lodged against horse farms were climbing by an alarming rate, the primary concern being manure management, and that local governments agencies were under pressure to revise or restrict horse friendly zoning. Increased scrutiny and pressure is bad news for Michigan horse lovers! Fortunately, there is time to take an active roll in reducing the perceived negative impact on the community while educating neighbors and law-makers of the positive impact horses bring.

In 2007 Equine Manure Management, LLC opened for business with the goal of helping Michigan's horse owners find solutions to managing their manure and stall waste production. At Equine Manure Management, LLC, we love to talk manure and are happy to help in any way we can.
